University students’ psychological well-being is challenged by academic pressure, social demands, and uncertainty about the future. In this context, reading the Qur’an is not merely a devotional activity but can serve as a means of reflection and emotional regulation. This study aims to analyze the concept of psychological well-being in interpretations of Surah Ar-Ra‘d verse 28 and examine students’ experiences of attaining tranquility through the intensity of Qur’an reading. It employed a qualitative approach within the Living Qur’an framework. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with five purposively selected students from the Islamic Study Brotherhood Forum in the Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, while credibility was assessed through source and method triangulation. The findings show that students read the Qur’an as a spiritual routine, a response to distress, an environmentally encouraged practice, and a means of self-reflection. Regular engagement was perceived to foster inner tranquility, reduce anxiety, strengthen optimism, and support the management of academic pressure. These findings demonstrate the lived actualization of tranquility in Surah Ar-Ra‘d verse 28 and highlight Qur’an-reading habits as a potential resource for students’ psychological well-being.
